Butterfly Studio Salon Metamorphosis
NEW YORK, NY – December 2, 2008 – Nicole Migeon Architect’s (NMA) latest renovation to the Butterfly Studio Salon is the second expansion to date. The client’s thriving business has made it necessary to add to the studio’s original construction, created by another firm for which Nicole Migeon was a Principal.

Appreciating the design sensibilities of Nicole Migeon, Butterfly Studio has looked to NMA’s new firm to make further refinements to her salon.
NMA’s most recent renovation of Butterfly Studio Salon added styling stations, remodeled the changing cabanas, and made several adjustments to the interior design.

To increase privacy and more effectively utilize space, the three circles of hanging cloth that served as changing rooms have been replaced by two oversized solid wood cylinders, stretching over eleven feet from floor to ceiling. Shop-painted and lacquered a bright orange to match the studio’s color scheme, the two changing rooms now resemble large designer pillars. The six large exterior windows have been covered with orange laminate, stretching eight foot tall and six foot wide, so at night the windows light up with the Salon’s “butterfly” logo, becoming large billboards.

A final, gentle adjustment to the interior space, NMA has added a long, custom-designed wenge bench with new cushions to the waiting area, providing a soft and relaxing seating experience to expectant clients.

NMA also designed new cushions for the waiting area near the koi pond and the hair drying area.
Butterfly Studio Salon’s latest renovation is a further refinement to one client’s grand vision of a successful Studio.
